RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests revolve around memory errors and emotional memory. I want to learn more about what conditions must be met for a memory error to occur, and I want to understand more about the different types of memory errors. For emotional memory, I am specifically interested in how emotions play a role in the encoding, storage, and retrieval of information, as well as how emotional memory can lead to memory errors. Overall, I would like to conduct research examining memory errors and how the different ways that emotion impacts memory.
TEACHING INTERESTS and FUTURE GOALS
My goal for the future is to find a profession where I can continue researching emotional memory and memory errors. Whether this is an academic position, an industry position, or another alternative option, I am not certain of yet. However, I am certain I would like to continue my research for the future.

Outside of school, I am an avid reader and play video games. Currently, my favorite books are Throne of Glass and The Mist.
CURRENT RESEARCH
Currently, I am working on an experimental study that involves a source memory error called Cryptomnesia. This error revolves around the idea that if an individual forgets the source of an original memory, then an error occurs where they believe it is a new idea that they have come up with. My study looks at how this error can occur when participants play a word game against either a human or an AI partner, and how unconscious plagiarism changes depending on which partner participants play against.
